So now we have over forty baby chickens on our yard. They don't have a mother so our host family built them a nice place to be warm and safe. I got to hold the chickens and of course they were super cute! I know it might be a very naive thing to say but it feels very strange for me to know that we will kill and eat these fluffy things when they get bigger... It is kind of a different experience compared to buy a piece of meat raped in plastic in the supermarket. Life is hard.

School number 3
This week we had decided to spend some time in another school in our community known as "School number 3". There they also have a kindergarden so of course we took the chance to spend some time with the little kids, in the beginning they were quite shy but after a while when they go comfterable with us we had a lot of fun.
Showing our countries on the map, Peru is faaar away
Many studets showed up for our activity, and we had quite a hard time to fit in the class room... But it was nice and we got some great ideas for activities for the future. An thank you Vivi for coming with us and helping us, you always know how to have a good time! Haha, the crazy part was that the kids wanted our "autografs", so now we feel like superstars*

Valentine's Day
Last week it was Valentine's Day, but because of the very cold weather and all the snow the school was closed... We didn't mind but celebrated our love the day after, with a heart full of nice messages, free hugs and "Love Is All You Need" in the speakers

So we are busy calling embassies, looking for recepies of traditional food and planing performances. 16 countries! And a great poster made by our own Luis.

Social Campaign in Bechet
Starting from December we have a social campaign in our community where we visit the azil in a neighboring village called Bechet. Every month during the rest of our project we will visit the patients there, bring some coffe and biscuits, play some cards, read a book for the ones who can't read for themselves, just have a nice chat, try to bring some joi and in exchange learn a little bit more about what's inportant in life. This week-end the weather was really bad so no students followed us to the azil, it was only our team and our mentor Lucia, but it was really great. For me it's really important that the elderly people don't feel humiliated about the fact that we want to visit them, but I think it went good. I think this was one of the best things we did in our project so far.
Tramping to the snow to get to the azil.
Playing macao, the rules kept changing.

Winter!
So last week winter struck Romania, and it struck us hard. I've experienced lower temperatures than -27 before, but never have I worn seven sweathers inside the school or showered in 6 degrees until now... But we made it trough, now the temperature is going up and I believe that after this we can survive almost anything. Haha. No but the fact is that Romania is not used to or prepared for this kind of weather, a few days ago they said on the news that Bucharet was the most isolated capital of Europe during the cold and counting until yeterday about 24 people have died in Romania because of the cold (according to the Irish times). In total almost 200 people have died in Europe, Ukraina has the highest number of deaths, and I keep wonder how we still, in 2012, can alow this to happen.
Marion and I, seven sweathers, four pair of pants, three socks, two scarfs, our warmest jackets, and so on... But still we were cold. Summer, come back to us. Please.
